The Breckenridge Quick Sticks lacrosse tournament is the Anti-Vail tournament of the year.  It is a much more subdued event with a more local Colorado feel to it. It is still very competitive lacrosse at high altitude and not for the faint of heart but it is held over 2 days with multiple games each day.  Families and friends are encouraged to attend this tournament as it also boasts a beautiful back drop for a very exciting couple of days of lacrosse.  The tournament is usually held around the first weekend in August and hosts a mixed field of teams usually from the front range.

Breckenridge 2007:

Great tournament again this year.  Some notes from the tournament:  Our roster size was perfect with just enough players at each position.  We battled a tough first game against Aspen where we found ourselves down 0-4 in the first half.  We battled back in the second half for the win.  Canon City was a bunch of Denver guys who played pretty well.  We came with in 1 goal a couple of times but we couldn't get the go ahead goal.  Piet Dudley played great in between the pipes for us and Jon Atwood took his "over the head" player to cage a number of times.  Joey Cowan was hillarious as always and Karl Koch tweaked his knee in the first game.  This was Brian Kearney's first tournament out of high school and he had some amazing goals.

That night was awesome with a lot of the guys out and about in the City of Breckenridge.  At the end of the evening we (me) somehow lost Belcher on the way home and he didn't turn up until 3:30 that morning.  The next day we played a very fun and vocal game against Ster.  Our team showed up late and a bit glossy eyed from the late night activities.  Once we shook off the morning blur we put together some fun lacrosse.  After winning we decided that the rivers and our homes were calling us more than a game vs. 303 experience.  Our team decided to call of the game and sadly enough 303 left the tournament with 2 forfeits and one loss.  Gold Bond won the championship in double over time over Lax World.

We had great fan and family support as we had the biggest crowd cheering us on at every game.  Again it is the Anti-Vail and lots of fun for the entire family.  With its fast games, short duration and fun town it is a great experience for everyone.  See you next year.

This years tournament dues for the 2007 tournament are $75 and to secure your spot please send your check into our international team head quarters asap.  Tournament schedule will be posted as soon as it has been finalized.
